Released CRCT Forms

Listed in the tables below are released test forms for the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests from the following years: 2000, 2001, and 2002. All CRCT forms are posted intact, just as students saw them, with the exception of items used for linking or field test purposes. Those items, and associated passages and/or graphics, have been excluded and are indicated by the notation LINK/FIELD TEST ITEM. Link items are those that will be used on future forms of the test to ensure comparable test forms from year-to-year. Field test items, on the other hand, provide an opportunity to try out newly developed items in order to evaluate whether they are appropriate for inclusion on future test forms. Student responses to field test items are not counted in scores. Student responses to link items, however, are counted in scores.

The benefits of these released test forms include increasing teacher, parent, and student familiarity with the items and test format. The released items and forms provide insight into how student achievement of the GPS and QCC content standards is measured, reported, and related to the CRCT performance level descriptors. The released test forms should not be utilized to teach individual test items. To do so narrows the curriculum to information contained in the test items only, and interferes with a student’s opportunity to learn the full scope and breadth of Georgia’s GPS/QCC.

Another tool, the Online Assessment System, is available to Georgia educators, students, and parents and contains a large bank of CRCT items that teachers and students can access to become familiar with the format of the test. The Online Assessment System has been provided to Georgia systems and schools in place of releasing the intact CRCT forms since 2003.
